Rick Santorum Announces the Launch of Patriot Voices Join Today!

This morning Rick Santorum sent out this email of his big announcement The Patriot Voices. Join Today!

“Over the past two months, I’ve spent a lot of time reflecting upon the past year. I’ve been thinking about the campaign we ran, the overwhelming support from our grassroots family, and how we accomplished what nobody thought we could: we reminded the nation that conservative values are alive and well all across America.

I knew that we had to harness that success and momentum, and keep propelling forward our shared commitment to promoting faith, family, freedom and opportunity in this country.

That is why I’ve decided to launch a new organization, Patriot Voices. This grassroots and online organization is founded on the values you and I hold in the highest regard, and is a platform for Americans across the country to stand together to affect change that otherwise could not be accomplished alone.

We have a goal of recruiting one million members who share our convictions, and who:

• Believe that family is the foundation for a healthy society and a strong economy;

• Believe in freedom and American exceptionalism, entrepreneurship and opportunity, and personal responsibility;

• Seek to be a voice for those who often cannot find for themselves: the unborn, the disabled, the elderly, and those struggling economically in these difficult times

With our one million members united in Patriot Voices, we can drive the defeat of Barack Obama in November, offer support to candidates who will stand up for conservative values, and continue to transform the political landscape of our country.

I couldn’t have run my campaign without you, and I can’t make Patriot Voices the organization it should be without your help, either. Would you consider learning more about Patriot Voices by watching my video, and becoming one of the first members on our website?

I remain forever grateful for your support, and look forward to continuing our message with Patriot Voices.

My Theory of Why Santorum Suspended His Presidential Campaign

By Brian Hughes
Edited by: Becca Lower

Rick Santorum (and this movement we’ve formed together) has made a huge impact on the GOP, our nation and (I hope) the world. The usually-soft Christian voice needed to be amplified and I believe Rick delivered the wattage needed. I firmly believe that our efforts were not in vain. I also believe that Rick is now doing what he has to do, in order to secure the ground that our grassroots movement gained in this cycle. People who’ve been in politics for a long time know how to play the game and Rick is one of those. That’s just how it is.

Ever since the day Rick Santorum suspended his campaign, I’ve been working on a theory of mine. I believe that while Bella was sick, Rick had a chance to step back from the trenches of the campaign and view it from a distance. He must have been able to get a full view of the battlefield that lay ahead, and that may have been when he realized that a clear win was not in the cards. He also might have known, at that point, there would be casualties if he had forged ahead because our resources in the grassroots were depleting. We as supporters felt so convicted about what Rick stood for in this fight that we would have kept on going– even past the point of going broke. I’m sure Rick realized, too, that his campaign’s needs required more resources than the grassroots could offer. And I believe– once he did– that he decided to lift this burden away from us. Another factor could have been the fact that the Romney campaign did have the needed resources to carry things forward and the main objective was to defeat Obama.

I know some of you believe that Rick’s compromising our shared beliefs by leaving the race and handing over the baton to Mitt. But since the beginning of his campaigning, he stated that this was always about defeating Obama. That theme, in all of his speeches, had a more prominent role than even values did. Why? Because if we don’t defeat Obama, we won’t have the freedom to express our values. But, if we defeat Obama our Republic will have the best chance of still standing.

Lastly, I want to say to those people who think that by suspending his campaign, Rick is committing a selfish act– you’re wrong. It’s one of the more unselfish acts anyone could ever do, if my theory is correct.

Even as I’m writing this, the thought that Rick was wrestling with this in his heart– unbeknownst to all of us– brings tears to my eyes. Being a man it’s hard to even admit that. I am only guessing, of course, because no one can see into another person’s heart and mind. But I do know what kind of man Rick is. It’s the same reason why I know he would make one of the best presidents our country has ever had. Without seeing a clear path ahead, Rick’s frugal nature would most likely have made it impossible for him to keep going. He knew that the larger effort, defeating the monster in the White House, would be much more than even we could muster.

On a personal note, I’d like to apologize, if I ever caused any of you anguish. I’m sorry for everything that has transpired since his announcement to suspend his campaign. And to all of those who have not yet had a chance to vote for Rick in your primaries or caucuses, my heart breaks for you. Please don’t read what I’m not saying; I’m in no way telling anyone who to vote for or who not to vote for in their Primaries. I truly love all of you whom I’ve met while working on the campaign. Hopefully, one day we can all rally together once again in this fight for our freedoms.

God bless you and God bless America.

Confession Time: From a Santorum Supporter

By David Van Risseghem

Yesterday I was locked in a struggle with the libertarians in our State Convention in Oklahoma. Mike Biundo was with me as we immerged from the Romney war room, to begin the convention.

The team all put Romney stickers on. I turned to Mike as the two of us had a private moment and he noticed I still had the sticker on my fingertip…

“This is really an emotional challenge that I need to do”, as I began to place the lapel sticker…

“I know”, Mike said. ” I did it last week and it was kinda tough on me”.

“Catch me if I fall over” I said as I pressed it to my blazer.

I did fine and the day went well for me and the coalition began to coalesce into a united Republican team. Because I wore the nominee’s sticker, others found the courage to transition to the team.

The Romney team chose wisely when they sent you and Lamar to Oklahoma, this week. You were exactly whom we needed to connect with to secure a great outcome for the Republican base.

…and as I said at the end of the day;

“The next time I see you I had better need a White House visitor pass.”

How Are You Thanking Rick Santorum?

By Guest Author Jim Meyer

I can’t believe what I’m reading in a few Santorum groups. I simply can’t believe it. Some of you have turned on Senator Santorum. You think he’s betrayed you. You think he’s sold you down the river.

Well, if you ask me, those of you who are saying those things should all be ashamed of yourselves. Profoundly ashamed.

Did it ever occur to any of you that Senator Santorum is probably suffering more about this than any of us are? After all, who was the one who put himself on the line, declared himself a candidate for the Presidency, practically put himself and his family in the poor house–and possibly in physical danger, as well–and exposed himself to the worst kinds of vicious attacks and libelous ridicule imaginable from such despicable pieces of human garbage as Dan Savage, Bill Maher and Wrong Paul, all out of love for our nation and a desire to restore decency and morality to a society that, for all practical purposes, has gone stark raving mad? How many of us would have done that?

Well, none of us did that. But Senator Santorum did.

Senator Santorum tried to give us a voice in this campaign. He gave it the best shot he possibly could, and by so doing, he defied all the odds. He outperformed and outlasted a good many candidates who, the so-called “experts” all told us, were all much stronger candidates than he was; candidates like Tim Pawlenty, Rick Perry, Jon Huntsman, Herman Cain, Michele Bachmann and Newt Gingrich.

Ultimately, Senator Santorum’s Presidential bid failed. He was underfunded, underorganized and had no friends in the media or the party establishment. That’s politics. That’s life. You don’t succeed every time you try something.

How many of you have ever set out to do something, given it your best possible effort, and ended up failing to achieve your goal? If you have, I don’t have to tell you that’s one of the worst feelings a person can possibly have. And if you have, you should also realize just how hard it must have been for Senator Santorum to put that phrase, “I endorse Mitt Romney” in that E-Mail. Every word, every syllable, every letter in that phrase, must have been pure torture for him. He wanted the Presidency at least as much as any of us wanted it for him; truth be told, he probably wanted it more. But in the end, he realized it wasn’t to be.

Senator Santorum also realized, as many of you don’t seem to, that the very survival of America depends on Obonzo being defeated this November; and that, if achieving that objective means backing a candidate who is less than ideal, that’s nevertheless what we are going to have to do; our misgivings about that candidate notwithstanding.

In the final analysis, the survival of the nation was more important to Senator Santorum than his political ambitions or even his pride. Rick Santorum is not a “sellout”. Far from it. What he is, is a patriot.

This man courageously stepped forward to be our candidate when we needed a voice in the campaign, and he did it in the face of withering criticism and slander which, I dare say, would have destroyed most, if not all, of the rest of us.

And how are some of us thanking Senator Santorum for all that he’s done, for all the sacrifices he and his family made and all the risks he took? By heaping unjustified criticism on him.

Well, I don’t believe it. I just don’t believe it.

Will You Stand with Rick and Fight?

By Brian Hughes

This is for all my fellow Rick Santorum supporters out there. Will you stand with Rick and fight?

As a supporter I received an email from Rick’s campaign informing me that he is endorsing Mitt Romney as the Republican nominee for President. I have to admit I saw this coming and I prepared myself foe it. But I am afraid that many of you might either be surprised and or angry that he has done this. If that is you, I would ask you to please continue reading as I talk about this short yet powerful paragraph.

“Above all else, we both agree that President Obama must be defeated. The task will not be easy. It will require all hands on deck if our nominee is to be victorious. Governor Romney will be that nominee and he has my endorsement and support to win this the most critical election of our lifetime.” Rick Santorum

Rick wrote, “Above all else, we both agree that President Obama must be defeated.” and I agree with him on this. My number one priority is to help kick out the commie that is presently occupying the White House.

This video is from The Victoria Jackson Show.

Rick also wrote, “The task will not be easy. It will require all hands on deck if our nominee is to be victorious.” I also agree with Rick on this point. It’s quite simple folks, “United we stand and divided we fall.”. It’s going to be a very tough fight for the White House and “O” will most certainly pull out all the stops. Look at this ad Obama has produced already…

This video is from “Obama: The One-Man Terrorist Slayer” from the blog conservativechick757.

To my fellow Christian brothers and sisters, I appeal to you. For those who are against Mitt because of your Biblical principles I am in agreeance and that is why I stood with Rick Santorum as my first choice for President of the United States. But now Rick is no longer running and we are left with the choice of the RNC establishment. I believe that the LORD will honor us for our first choice but I also believe He will honor us for our choice to help the GOP defeat President Obama. My values vote was Rick Santorum and my wisdom vote is the RNC nominee.

Watch this very inspiring speech from Florida Congressman Allen West at the Broward County REC Lincoln Day Dinner.

Here’s what the Right Scoop had to say about Allen’s address:

“This is the most incredible speech, ever. Allen West comes out swinging hard against the left and doesn’t stop until his speech is over. He hits the left over their collectivist ideology. He hits them over their collectivist policies. And he encourages Republicans to “find the enemy and fight them wherever they are” just like American paratroopers from the 101st and 82nd airborne did the night before D-day. He said Republicans must be like sharks that smell blood in the water because, as he puts it so well, we don’t win playing defense. We win on offense.”

This video was produced by Boris Balaban.

We must unite and stand together to defeat our common enemy Obama, because four more years of his progressive liberal policies would mean the destruction of our Republic. We also need to focus our efforts on helping our local and State Congressional candidates to win control of the Senate and expand our control of the House.

Do you remember why you’re a Conservative Republican?

Who Are We Battling Against?

By Brian Hughes

Since posting my last blog, “The Battle is Over but the War is Still On”, I’ve been on the receiving end of many attacks and slanders. I’ve been all but exiled from some of the inner circles of what was once Team Santorum. Sadly, I have watched a division widen within the grassroots movement of Santorum supporters– between those that are still fighting as if Rick were still in the race and those who have moved on since he suspended his bid. My question, for myself and anyone reading this: who are we battling against?

This fighting is causing several problems. First, it’s alienating those who have chosen to move on to fight other battles in this war for our Liberty and our freedoms. Second, communication within the grassroots movement has been disrupted. Not only can’t people talk with each other, but it’s causing needless disrespect of those we once called brothers and sisters. Anyone wanting to continue campaigning for Rick surely feels isolated from everyone else. Third, our base is being weakened, and divison can only appear in a negative light. Remember that the rest of the world is always watching– especially the Liberals.

After much prayer and thought, here are my suggestions. Let’s show compassion for those people still wanting to campaign without Rick. Their desire to do so need not cause anyone offense. But I also ask respectfully, of those people who want to stay an active part of the Santorum groups: please don’t use avatars that represent another candidate. This does cause offense, and we Christians are called to a higher standard of conduct and character. I thought it was inappropriate to change my avatar to another Presidential candidate while still wanting to network and interact with the Santorum groups, so I decided not to and even kept my cover photo up of me holding Rick Santorum sings.

To those of you still wanting to campaign for Rick, I say: Please don’t attack those of us that have moved on. It isn’t fair. No one is betraying anyone. We are all sorry that Rick left the race. We were all left high and dry without a candidate, even though he still is on ballots in upcoming primary and caucuses. My heart really breaks for Rick supporters in those states. I know how important it was for me to vote based on my Christian values. So, do this yourself, if that is what’s on your heart. But please refrain from calling me or anyone else a turncoat, or a betrayer of Rick. That is completely untrue. I will go one step further. Even someone with an avatar of another Candidate on their profile is not a turncoat or betrayer.

How should we in the grassroots continue to associate and network? My hope is that– now– a leader will emerge and lay down some ground rules, since it’s quite evident that we’re unable to govern ourselves. This leader would step up and attempt to guide with fairness and wisdom, providing unity. The grassroots network spawned by Rick’s campaign can be such a powerful force for the upcoming battles. And the communication possibilities alone are endless.

Like I said in my previous blog, I am of the opinion that we need to shift our attentions to our local and State Congressional races. This is even what Rick brought up in his interviews and on the conference call with Team Santorum.

If even one person is helped by this article, I will feel that stepping out on a limb like this was worth it.

The Battle is Over but the War is Still On

By Brian Hughes

Here are my thoughts after Monday’s conference call with Rick Santorum, Karen, Bella and Mark Rodgers. I am a values voter and my first choice was Senator Santorum. I gave everything I could to Rick and his campaign, money, time, skills, talents, sweat, tears and more. Just ask my wife. But I have no regrets.

Early on in the 30 minute Conference call Rick stated that “…we’re no longer in this race.” So It’s painfully obvious that his Presidential Campaign is over and we must stop trying to campaign without a Candidate.

“The war is not over but the battle is and we can’t fight a battle without a General.”

I can’t stand how the system works either and I personally think Mitt Romney is not the best thing going for us as Republicans but I will still support what Republicanism stands for and trust that God is in control.

I was able to vote for Rick in my Primary here in Florida and it felt good to be able to do that so I understand how disappointed many of you are who still have a Primary or Caucus coming up. I say vote however you feel like when it’s your turn. After August I have every intention to support who ever the GOP Nominee is in hopes of defeating President Barack Obama and I encourage others to do the same.

I hear many other Republicans say they will not support Romney if he is the Nominee. In black and white reality, I don’t believe that is the right thing to do and I do believe God would frown upon us doing nothing in this matter. If we allow the enemy to discourage us from supporting the Republican Nominee and from voting in November, the enemy will have won a major battle.

“All that is necessary for the triumph of evil is that good men do nothing.” Edmund Burke

We still have to fight for what we as Conservative Republicans stand for and defeating Barack Obama is the Parties main objective.

My main focus has already shifted to helping State and local Conservatives with their Congressional Campaigns. We have many many races all over the Country that need all of our help! How amazing would it be to take what rick has started and now focus all of it on those races…it would shake the foundations of Capitol Hill and our voices would be heard loud and clear.

We need to help Conservative Candidates take the Senate back and expand the House. One of the great places to help do that is this Facebook group, National Grassroots to Elect a Conservative Congress.

But if we just scatter in discontent to our havens of misery it will be a much larger loss for all of us. Please be encouraged, keep the faith and keep fighting! God bless!

Rick Santorum is a True Hero in my Eyes

By Brian Hughes

Today is a dark day for Rick Santorum supporters. As we all waited with anticipation to hear of Bella’s prognosis, we got news we all regretted hearing. Rick Santorum has suspended his campaign for President in 2012.  I had a gut feeling about this when I first heard of Bella’s admission into the hospital.

I want to commend Rick for not allowing Bella to be the scapegoat but rather using the Texas delegate rule to be it instead (A Message from Rick and Karen: Thank You). This is exactly why I support Rick in the first place. Any man who chooses to be a hero for his daughter over anyone else or anything else is my hero.  I hope and pray for the health of Bella in this dark time for her and her family.

As we all complain about who can we support now and what is going to happen to us; let us think about poor Bella at home with pneumonia and how serious this could be. The fact that Rick and Karen left Bella’s side to talk to us about their decision was very honorable. Being a father of 5 and my youngest having Spina Bifida it proves to me that Rick really does care about our Nation and his family.

Bella is in our prayers and I hope the best for Rick and his family.

The Leading Cause of Degradation of the Family in US is Education

The leading cause of degradation of the family in the US is rooted in our inability to protect the education of our children. We’ve allowed the Government to step in and take control of how our children are educated. Another thing is we have allowed the minority in this Country to dictate our laws and how our society should function on a public level. To the point of letting them dictate our healthcare.

We handed our schools over to the Government and allowed them to remove God, prayer and the Ten Commandments from the classroom and then expect our children to have moral values. It’s basically a miracle that we are not in worse shape. That is the primary reason we began homeschooling our children.

Private schools are also at fault because they enable the Fed by capitalizing on the circumstance to make a profit and by pulling in Federal money. If we don’t take our schools back and bring God back into the classroom it will all be in vain and we will just delay the inevitable.

Newt’s Gamble Could Mean our Freedoms

Based on my observations, it seems to me that Newt Gingrich is exhibiting the behaviors and characteristics of a gambling addict by deciding to stay in the GOP race. He has chosen to completely disregard the fact that he has not proven to be a viable contender. The problem here is that his wager is our Country and our freedoms, which are being torn away little by little by Obama and his minions. Newt; stop gambling with our freedoms and our Country!

Newt just like a gambling addict is anticipating that he will eventually hit the mother load win that will send him into Presidential orbit. A gambling addict will lose everything they have and whatever they can obtain from others to chase that next big win. The big problem here is that Newts betting with our freedoms.

Every game that he refuses to step away from the table he fuels Mitt Romney’s advancement to the nomination. If Newt would leave the table it would give Rick Santorum all of the Conservative vote; this would most likely discourage and destroy Romney’s campaign.

Newt not dropping out of this race alarms me and causes me to not trust him even more than before. I am hoping that Gingrich can resist the lime light and show some self control by dropping out of the race for the sake of our freedoms and our Country.

Help Rick Santorum win the Republican Nomination
